"On The Wing"
Answers to questions:
"Why are women looked down upon in the Bible?"
This question shows a misunderstanding of the whole of scripture. First, the Bible is historical, as well as instructional. The reality of the time, prior to Christ, was that women were considered as property and were deemed a lower class; this is just a part of the degradation that plagues mankind due to sin entering into the world. In the fullness of time, when God saw that the hearts of mankind was evil continually; He came in the flesh as Emmanuel, Jesus Christ, to redeem that which was lost. The Bible simply records the plight of women as it was and how the coming of Christ lifted them to the highest plane. Consider this:
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:28
This reveals that women have an equal standing in God's economy; then and now.
Women are even more elevated when we look at marriage, and God's desire for the relationship:
Husbands, love your wives, even a Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; Eph 5:25
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. Eph 5:28
So ladies, when you find a man that loves Christ and everything He stands for; you will have found "Mr. Right."
