The Error of Westboro Baptist Church?...
... is that they are stating the obvious. They have designated themselves as god's appointed, chosen, servants to advise the
world of its sin. Newsflash!, every one us of know that sin exists, we just don't agree on what things, or behaviors constitute sin.
Well, let me qualify this, there may be a few atheists among us that are perfect, as that would be the only way there could be no
such thing as sin or imperfection. Show me the perfect person, apart from Christ, and I'll agree with you that sin does not exist.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9
The statements of a Westboro Baptist Church attorney on a recent show reveals that the above verse is true; an individual
called the show to challenge the church's understanding of Biblical doctrine; the following verse was referenced:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. John 3:16
The above is a very familiar verse that shows a loving God and a God that came to bless and not curse. Westboro, supposedly followers of Christ, is openly holding protest that are contrary to scripture. The command of The Church is the reach others for Christ; we all fall short and are in need of a Savior.
This error is revealed when the Westboro representative (a, attorney, member of the church) ignored the truth of the
scripture and reputed the caller by sternly stating ,"there is also John 3:18, read it."
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed
in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:18
Did you notice that the attorney skipped John 3:17?
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17
Therefore, John 3:18 is simply stating that we are condemned until/unless we believe on the Lord Jesus Christ; it's sad that Westboro is wasting their time with the symptons sin and not giving out good news, the remedy for sin.
This is a classic error of anyone who thinks more highly of themselves than they should. When we, true followers of Christ,
understand the Gospel (the Good News); we are humbled and so thankful that we want the best for others; that includes those
who are fighting in wrong wars and participating in wrong relationships.
Westboro is in error as they don't have the best interest of other's at heart, especially homosexuals. True Christianity,
while completely opposed to homosexuality, offers an alternative; Jesus Christ, the hope of glory. He offers, whosoever
will, a new identity and changed heart. Anyone who chooses to put their trust in Him becomes a child of God. An identity that consists of abundant life here and a home in heaven someday; forever.

whatever you label yourself or; are you a child of the living God?
Put your trust in The Lord Jesus Christ, and Him alone, nothing else works.
