THE BLOG SOLUTION: All have sinned

Is there a sin unto death,
for the believer?

Well, can an individual commit a sin that would cause God allow the ultimate consequence, death? The short answer is yes; but let's look at it a little closer.

We must remember two things:
1. God is Sovereign; and therefore He is right and just in everything He does or allows.
2. God hates all sin and therefore no sin, in His sight, is any more or less evil than any other.

Consider this story I heard some time ago:(paraphrase)

There is a father that has a son named Billy. Billy is a little angel and his father loves him. One day, little Billy is allowed to go out and play with a neighbor's kid by the name of Jimmy; in about an hour-or-so Billy's farther hears an awful noise of screaming and yelling and sees his little angel "beating-the-stuffin" out of Jimmy. The father calls out to Billy and tells him to knock-it-off. So Billy quits, and the father allows him to continue playing.

Another hour passes and the father hears more screaming and crying and sees Billy, once again, beating little Jimmy. The father says, that's it Billy, come home.

It's quite simple, when the sovereign God determines that a Child of God is hurting the cause of Christ, He may call him or her home. While it is certain that a, genuine, believer cannot lose their salvation as they are completely forgiven and accepted because of what Christ has done; God's children are not to live, continuously, in sin. The moral of this story is that any sin can be the sin unto death if a child of God is repeatedly disobedient.

Sin has consequences, the worst consequence, in my book, is broken fellowship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

Think about it, death for the believer is better than life down here trying to make it alone. Being out of fellowship with God in this world leaves us miserable, destitute, confused; and troubled.

And the unbeliever? Well, they are already dead, spiritually that is. You see, Christ offers life.

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) Ephes. 2:4-5

Christ gave His life for us,
To give His life to us,
To live His life through us.

When one puts their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ they go from death to life.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philip. 1:21

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 2 Cor. 5:14-15

Choose Christ, and find life in Him.
