Stirred from a deep sleep this morning (23 December 2004), and while pondering several things, I began to focus on Jesus; what He means to me and the world this Christmas season. The thought came to mind that He is the great separator and reconciler. His claim that He is "the only way" to the Father makes Him a stumbling stone for many. He stands between man and heaven. At the same time He is the great reconciler. Therefore, I've concluded that there are primarily two questions that separates true believers from unbelievers and those claiming some form of "religion". The litmus test is this:
Disclaimer: You and I don't have to agree. Heaven, and God's sovereignty, will never be changed or altered by what you or I believe. We don't have to agree with each other but, we must agree with God. Here are two immutable things:
With this said it is important that we agree with God. Jesus as Emmanuel or God with us, the incarnate Christ, was God in the flesh. He (Jesus) is God. If you or I don't agree with God, the scripture says we "are none of His". Jesus died on the cross as a sin substitute for all men that sins may be forgiven; He has risen from the dead to conquer death so that all men may have eternal life, by simply believing on His (Jesus') name. Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. Jesus is alive and involved in our daily lives. If you or I don't agree with God, the scripture says we "are none of His". To deny the deity of Christ is calling God a liar. As stated earlier, since it is impossible for God to lie, to disagree with Him is sin. God cannot co-exist with sin. The Good News is: There is no inequity with God. The 100% Great Separator is
also the 100% Reconciliator. Christ's sacrifice of the Cross and resurrection
from the dead bridged the separation between God and man; now anyone who wants
to can, come to the throne of grace, repent and receive forgiveness of their
personal sins and be saved. |
