"On The Wing"
Answers to questions:
If the Bible is inerrant as well as to say that the men
who put it together were inerrant in compiling it; then if God is still inspiring men today couldn't they write
it down?
Yes, but only if the Sovereign Creator lead them to write it and He hasn't, to date.
God is not inspiring men today the same way he did in the times of Abraham and Moses (B.C.). During that time He
used direct revelation and the prophets. In the times of John, Matthew, or Luke (A.D.), He speaks through His
Son, The Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrews 1:1-2).
Jesus Christ fulfilled the law and the prophets and therefore any writings or inspired scriptures are all about
Him. The Old Testament writings point to Him (His coming) and the New Testament points back to the Cross. We
receive the bonus of revealed historical fact, instructions for current, daily, living and knowledge of future
events until the end of the earth as we know it (His second coming to rule and reign). This is why no other
writings are required or will ever stand; Christ has ascended and His Spirit is at work. The Holy Bible is
complete and tells the whole state/condition of mankind, past, present and future.
The inspiration now is to give it (The Word of God) out as it is written. The New Testament era began a new
dispensation; a different method of God dealing with mankind. God is now speaking through believers by His
Spirit (the book of Acts records this clearly). We are in the age of the gentiles where God is calling everyone
to repentance. We (Christians) prayerfully use the scriptures to point individuals to Christ Jesus.
As far as specific scriptures; a careful study (to understanding) of the whole Bible makes it evident that no
other scripture would be valid. I can get back to you with other specific scripture but this comes to mind
directly:
For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto
these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away
from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of
the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Rev. 22:18-19
You can be confident that God doesn't distinguish between books of the Bible; from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation
22:21, all scripture is to be taken seriously.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Tim. 3:15-17
There is nothing new to be written. God's perfect and complete plan of redemption is through Jesus Christ and
mankind hasn't changed since the beginning.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the
redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Romans 3:23-24
The wonderful thing is that God's plan hasn't change either; Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and
for ever. Hebrews 13:8
