Criminal Behavior Condoned

solving the illegal immigration problem

We can't attempt to get rid of the foundation for absolutes, Christ and His teachings, and expect to have answers to what is right and wrong. We cannot condone wrong behavior and expect it to benefit us, economically or otherwise. Right and wrong behavior always has consequences.

As for illegal immigration: Initially, I leaned toward a "path to citizenship or amnesty," but upon listening and learning; I have had a change of heart."
First, we need to publicly repent, and admit that we have failed to keep established laws. That done, offering an amnesty, or path to citizenship is tricky. We want to do right by those who are already here, even though they are here illegally. Here is the following question that finally led to me changing my mind: How do we recognize "who was already here"? Hypothetically, if we say, Jan. 2011 is the cut-off date, how do we prove who entered/s on, before, or after Jan. 2011. Do we trust "illegal immigrants" to be honest? Yes, we can check the backgrounds of all who come forward and afterwards, enforce a strict "no illegal immigrants allowed" policy. But I doubt if many will come forward and a lot will rush to get in as soon as we set an amnesty policy. Also, how confident are we in our ability to secure the borders.

10 step solution to the illegal immigration problem
  • 1. Stop all immigration procedures while we secure the borders. We may have to declare war on our borders.
  • 2. Grant everyone, already in the country illegally, background checks, if they come forward within 6 months. If they are cleared during the background check (i.e. they have no criminal or terrorists ties); then they are put in the back of the line, outside of the country. That is, the back of the "legal" immigration line, after a specified penalty for breaking the law.
  • 3. Record identities of all who come forward.
  • 4. Repeal the law that makes children born of illegal’s, citizens; an illegal person cannot perform any act that is legal, to include serving in our military.
  • 5. Deport anyone who doesn't pass the background check for criminal activity.
  • 6. If background checks reveal terrorists connections; they should be regarded as an enemy and subject to further scrutiny, if found guilty they should be placed under the jurisdiction of the wartime procedures in place (i.e. Patriot Act etc.) - We are at war, aren't we?
  • 7. When found out; any employer that hides, hires, or is ignorant of illegal workers, or misses the come-forward deadline should be held accountable on a case by case basis. You are either with us or the enemy, sound familiar? Any employer found guilty should be punished to the full extent of the law.
  • 8. Be consistent with prosecution and deportation of anyone who hires, helps, or enters the country illegally from this point on.
  • 9. Lastly, and so important that it should be done first: Pray! Terrorists aren't looking to be legal, just lethal.

    10. Who will pay for all of this? Was not 911 enough pay, or just a down-payment? Freedom isn’t free.
