Heaven - where is it and how do we get there?

The question: Where is Heaven and how do we get there, is a good question.

What are the consequences if we don’t find it and, if we knew where it was, are we 100% sure we meet the requirements to go there when we die? The latter part of this follow-up question is very important. The location of heaven is moot if we are not going there.

The quest of getting to heaven begins by knowing why we are here:

The chief duty of man is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.

When we understand this it makes knowing how to get there wonderful.

We glorify God by reflecting the glory He’s giving us back to Him. Keeping His commands does this. The greatest command is to love Him with all our heart, to have no others gods before Him. This can only be achieved in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. After submitting to God's will through Christ, God begins to transform us into the likeness of Christ. Earth is our training grounds for enjoying God in heaven, throughout eternity.

Therefore, only those who have or will trust Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior will go to heaven. He was born to die that we might really live. His resurrection reconciled mankind to God. This is God’s design and nothing else but His sacrifice provides salvation.

The only way heaven is via Jesus Christ and Him alone

Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:10-12
