Going! Going! Gone.

The hub-of-history rolls on

First the king of Rock-n-roll, then the king of Soul, and now; the king of Pop.

Yes, the hub-of-history moves on and they all pass off the scene. We try and find ways to honor these celebrites with undeserved praise while it's plain to see that they, as we, are seriously flawed. But, God's plan just keeps on working itself out:

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, Hebrews 9:27a...

We can't deny that death, the penaly for sin (Romans 6:23), is sure. The truth that death is certain is really revealed when looking at how many celebrity deaths have occured in 2009 thus far; Out of 146 deaths as of 3 Oct; these are the last 33 and their ages at death:

  • The great question now is: Where are they now?

...but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27b.

God's word is clear; anyone who trusts Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, before natural death, will live forever with Him. The others spend eternity separated from Him.

What we need is The King of Kings and Lord of Lords; Jesus Christ.

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Hebrews 9:28

The average age of the 33 listed above: 74.06 years

The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Psalm 90:10

Time is running out; today is the day to receive Him (Christ Jesus) as your personal Lord and Savior.
