"On The Wing"

Answers to questions:

"What is your position on birth control?"

This is an interesting and involved question. Firstly, it's a given that God's best is having children until He determines we are naturally past the age. This is thinking "above the sun." God's ways are not our ways, they are higher and perfect.

With that said, I am unaware of any specific scripture that commands us not to use birth control. Abortion as a birth control is obviously wrong as it falls in the murder category.

This leads me to my major thought here. "It's not so much what you do; it's where your heart is when you do it?

Additionally, I am of the opinion that in a sin cursed world birth control is not always taboo. I'm sure that God wants us to use good old sanctified common sense. If I knew what I know now, I believe I would have made some different decisions. I definitely would seek the advice of a believer in the medical field.

Of greater importance is this: I rejoice in seeing families (regardless of how many young ones they have) that are raising their children with a full knowledge of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. This, I know, is the ultimate will of God and should be our major focus.

With that said when physical, financial, or age of parents come in to play (because we don't live in God's desired perfection), birth control is not improper. Medical breakthroughs are God's gift to aid us in an imperfect world. I'm confident that the key is parents being in prayerful agreement before God. If additional children will be too burdensome (hindering the major focus), or age becomes and issue, then we may be crossing another boundary by not being good stewards. God's desire is that we raise all of our children in a Christ-like loving environment.

The things of God are perfectly balanced.
