Summits of UnderstandingI would like to suggest and expansion of the "Faith based initiative". I think going international, by establishing an 'Ambassador of Spiritual Understanding', would be a fantastic way to bridge the gap of international cultural / spiritual misunderstanding. Here is what I propose: 1) First of all, as a nation, we should get off the fence. If we are grounded in the Christian ethic as our forefathers intended then we must officially state it. Most of the countries abroad seem to have an innate sense of this already, and due to lack of understanding of what Christianity is, they have disdain for us. Additionally, we are sending mixed messages, as we don't seem to practice what we espouse. 2) This Ambassador, assisted by his faith-based team, should hold to 'essential Christian doctrine.' 3) The Ambassador would strictly adhere to certain rules:
Goal and purpose: The initiative is to spread the good news; that the Christian ethic is moral, all inclusive and has everyone’s best interest at heart. Expected results: The hope is to send the Ambassador as a missionary in an effort to avoid sending soldiers in harms way sometime in the future
Benefit: God's blessing as we are obedient in taking the 'good news' to all nations. 21 31 Jan 2005
