Same Sex-Marriage Advances in Canada,
We've Got Next?

We've Got Next is a street basketball term for individuals sitting on the sidelines waiting to get their turn to play the game. To declare openly "We've Got Next" is to say that the loser of the game in progress will have to sit and we're in. I'm afraid we (America) are on the sidelines waiting our turn and not learning from the loser's mistakes.

My initial reaction to the news out of Canada was "Well, there it is, Canada becomes the third country to guarantee same-sex marriage." I was not shocked at all because, contrary to secular belief, things are destined to get worst before they get better. With this said, after thinking about this development I became sad as consequences are forthcoming.

Belgium and the Netherlands have previously went this route and a close look at their existence could have spared Canada and (by proximity) the United States (US) the problems that come with leadership condoning behavior that is contrary to the sacred institution of marriage.

Subsequently, my sadness turned to resolve as I thought about the opportunity this presents us. We (the US) haven't taken a close look at what has occurred in Belgium and the Netherlands since marriage has been redefined but Canada gives us another chance; up close and personal.

Being our neighbors, this is a great opportunity to prove God. Yes, let's watch Canada and see God's principles come to pass. Canada (as any nation) cannot subvert God's sacred institutions and avoid dire consequences; It's only a matter of time.

If we miss this opportunity, I'm afraid WE'VE GOT NEXT; meaning it's only a matter of time before the US condones same-sex marriage and receives God's judgment.

The character of the King determines the character of the Kingdom. Any nation the rejects God's principles is destined for failure. God's ways are universal, He loves the sinner but hates the sin. His ways are always best and because the best must prevail, there are consequences for wrong-doing (correction) and rewards for doing what's right (affirmation), these principles never fail.

Therefore, watch and pray
that we won't have to say,
We've Got Next.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
