- it's about insanity

With the President’s choice for Supreme Court Justice in the hotspot, let the abortion debate begin, right? Well I’m of the opinion that it’s not about abortion, it’s about our real condition. We, and that’s all of us, have a fatal condition and the answer is the same for every issue we are struggling with as a nation and world:

• Abortion
• Terrorism
• Homosexuality
• The Economy
• Spreading Democracy
• Affirmative Action
• Church, State separation
• Quality Health Care
• A myriad of social issues
• All others

We have what is called The Pride of Life; it’s all about us. We are naturally selfish and therefore our hearts are bent and totally depraved.

Will the overturning of Roe vs. Wade eliminate abortion? The obvious answer is no. The heart of mankind seeks self-glorification; we will continue killing unless we have a genuine change of heart.

Will leaving Iraq, killing as many terrorist as possible, providing more troops or mere diplomacy solve the terrorism problem. The obvious answer is no. The heart of mankind seeks self-glorification. With out a right foundation for truth and moral character, which leads to a change of heart in each individual, terrorism is here to stay.

Will outlawing or legalizing homosexuality solve this social issue? Again, the answer is no. Homosexuality has been around for a long time and is still wrong. It is also, by the way, causing the same results: broken lives and destroyed nations. Outlawing it won’t change hearts and legalizing it will cause chaos.

What is the answer? We need the right foundation for truth, and moral absolutes.

Is it the economy? No, actually it’s the character of those who influence the economy. It’s greed in high and low places. We are the culprits. We are not good stewards of what has been entrusted to us because we are lacking the knowledge of the absolute right way to live.

Must I go on? Poverty, Spreading Democracy, Affirmative Action, Church-State Separation, Quality Health Care and all social issues fall within the same preview:

I’ve heard it said, Insanity is doing the same thing the same way and expecting different results. Again, we have been making these mistakes for a very long time, there is nothing new under the sun.

This is our dilemma, we have bought the lie that mankind rules; that we have all the answers when we actually don’t have any.

Finally, the only solution is having a right relationship with the Sovereign God of the universe. The only way to have this relationship is through Jesus Christ. We can either choose Him or insanity.
