Nothing From Nothing

- Intelligent Design or Evolution

One again I feel compelled to address an issue that has been bashed around in the media lately. "Should the Intelligent Design theory be taught in schools along with the Evolution theory?" I'm of the opinion that intelligent design is the lesser of two evils. Do you remember the song which had this portion of lyrics in it. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing, but you've got to have something if you want to be with me... This was originally a selfish song at best but I will use the phrase in a different context.

Although the argument can be made that we gradually let Biblical teaching get out of schools and intelligent design is a step to get the right moral teaching back in it. I feel the problem is in the home. We need the historical Christian faith incorporated in children by their parents and they will reject Evolution (and all other false doctrine) no matter where it's spoken. Speaking of Evolution, this is where nothing from nothing comes in. The BIG BANG or it all just happened without an uncaused first cause is an idea that is running out of steam. If I might be dogmatic; the theory Evolution is on the way out.

Once again, the underlying cause of it's very conception was because we:

  • don't want to be accountable to a higher authority
  • we want to in control and obviously aren't
  • we don't want to admit we are hopelessly depraved
  • we don't want to admit we need a Savior
Are we in control?
  • have we stopped a single natural disaster yet?
  • just ponder the death rate, it's one per person

If evolution were true it would leave us dead with nothing following, as nothing from nothing can only produce nothing. God is longsuffering and saying: You've got to have something, if you want to be with me. That something is Jesus Christ and Him alone. My only contention with Intelligent Design is that time is running out. Cut to the chase, there is a God, He loves you unconditionally but you must come to Him, His way because He remains undefiled throughout eternity and to be with Him in heaven you must be undefiled also. This can only happen if you have a sin substitute, and that's what Jesus' sacrifice is, a substitute for you and me. Therefore, pray, repent, ask for forgiveness of your personal sins and really live!
