Women, Forgive Me, I Have Sinned

The message is about forgiveness and reconciliation. This is an apology to women for the hurt that men have caused in their lives. Therefore, if you are a woman reading this, I'm confident that you have likely been hurt in some form by a man in your life, if not, praise God and love your man.

Let's look at forgiveness; I have a biblical world view therefore, I refer to it for truth.

The principle of forgiveness is release or freeing. We are freed from the sins that others have put upon us by forgiving them. This becomes quite difficult if the person does not ask for forgiveness but, is anything too hard for God?

We must forgive or we will carry that sin until we do so. The sin of unforgiveness becomes our horrible burden. Bitterness can cause us to be miserable and not able to fulfill God's purpose for our lives. Forgiving gives us the opportunity to be free.

As for the marriage relationship, Ephesians 5 lays out God's design for marriage. Men are to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave His life for it. Women are to respect their husbands. I am of the opinion that men are commanded to love their wives because God wanted it to be and act of the will. Men are not wired specifically or naturally to love. On the contrary, women are wired to love, they are natural nurturers. Thus, women are commanded to respect their husbands, again, this is an act of the will.

God is calling men and women to obedience. The things that are not natural or wired into us by God, we must simply perform out of obedience. Sacrifice is what makes us complete, as we realize that somehow one plus one equals three in the marriage relationship; God my spouse and me.

As singles, the principle of forgiveness is the same; forgive and be free.

You may be saying, "the hurt is too deep, I don't know if I could ever forgive or respect a man." Therefore you will need a sin substitute. Instead of carrying that imperfect man's sin, I implore you to consider the perfect man, Jesus Christ. He was our sin substitute on the cross and His final words were "Father forgive them". He forgave us and by His power we can forgive others. Embrace Him today and be free.

I must be blunt here, you will never be free apart from a personal relationship with God through His son, Jesus Christ. You will forever live an unfulfilled life wondering what's missing.

Please accept my humble apology for any man that has sinned against you. On behalf of any man who has hurt you beyond measure, forgive me, I have sinned.
