No, this diary is not referring to Deep Throat, the infamous 1970s adult movie, as being the common theme of the two presidents. Although, the crude jokes about that similarity are inevitable. The similarity is "corruption" and consequences. It's being said that we're talking about apples and oranges when we compare watergate and sexgate. This is a false assumption. The facts remain, no sin goes unpunished and no sin is lesser than any other; God hates them all. Corruption has a price:
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7
Mr. Felt was right in what he did; as truth (God's laws) out weigh man's law. If the law is corrupt, it is far better to side with the truth. With this said, I don't know Mr. Felt's motives were out of malice, if so, he will reap his just reward if he hasn't already.
As for former President Clinton, I don't know why he is even being spoke of other than he is a Democrat and Republicans need a political equalizing scandal because the Democrats are attempting to use former President Nixon and the Deep Throat story to get at Republicans. All of this is petty and vanity.
Politics aside, they both were wrong and paid the price (as we all do) for their failings, and this too is vanity.
Why vanity? Ask Mr. Felt if it's important to be Deep Throat at 90+ years of age. What's important is rather or not he's ready to die. For that matter, are we ready to die? This puts things into perspective. Don't know who to attribute the following to but it's not mine.
When considering the elderly consider this:
As you are now
I once was and
as I am now
you soon shall be.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27
Now is the time to get right with God.
Instead of political footballs, these former presidents should be examples for us. Just do the right things, no matter what. We can't hide from God or escape His judgements. Truth always prevails either in this life or the next.
Finally, Is Mr. Felt a hero? Well, a hero is one who is willing to die for truth and for what is right. He knows that secret sin is open news in Heaven. A hero will sacrifice all for truth and needs no anonymity as he fears God and not man. Again, Is Mr. Felt a hero? You decide.
