"Should religion be taken into account when voting for candidate?""On The Wing"
Answers to questions:
Absolutely, but not alone. A person's "religion" should be given the same amount of attention as the rest of
their life choices. Here's my personal opinion; I will vote for the candidate whose, conduct, character, voting
record, political stances, stump speeches, and everything else I can find out about him/her is
closest to that of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ is the perfect standard. This requires two things:
1. That I know what Christ's (a.k.a. God's) position is
2. That I know what the candidate's position is
Makes it simple; the candidate (regardless or political party affiliation, sex, race or whatever) that agrees
with Christ the most gets my vote. As an aside, yes a Christian should always vote as we are to be in the world but
not of the world; we are to let our light shine and not hide it under a bushel. We are to be good stewards of
everything God has entrusted to us; our vote is one of those. Therefore, we listen, learn and then vote.
