The “Truth” about Ann
Coulter
Looking at
the uproar caused by Ann Coulter’s book Godless:
The Church of Liberalism, I couldn’t help but opine. It’s true that she
appears to have sensationalized her writing to deliver the biggest impact;
quite successfully I might add. I am not amazed at all at the reaction to her
claims. The fact of being ungodly (as a liberal or conservative) is The ungodly,
American or foreigner cringes and reacts negatively to such declarations. Ann
Coulter’s book hits too close to home, this is why we have the uproar. Most
dissenters, or those who don’t like Ann Coulter or her book, were pushed over
the edge when she revealed their true allegiance. If one is
not, on a daily basis, desiring to live for God by considering His purposes,
principles and plans, he/she is ungodly.
The mere fact of acknowledging there is a God or going to church on
Sunday dose not make one godly. Applying God’s truths, as revealed in
scripture (the Bible), is where being godly begins. Once again, this
beginning is sparked by turning to God from idols by trusting Jesus Christ as
one’s personal Lord and Savior; anything other than, or apart from this is
ungodly. Therefore,
Ann Coulter stuck a nerve in those who want to live as they choose and not be
called on it. Living like the devil and hiding in the shadows never works as
God is omnipresent and ensures that all discretions eventually come to the
light; no sin goes unpunished. The principle that there are consequences for
sinful behavior is one we should pay attention to: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for
whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians
6:7 The “truth”
about Ann Coulter is that her writings are a little to close to The Truth for
our ungodly comfort. |
