Building the Mosque and Burning the Qur’an
As of the evening of 9 September 2010, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is contemplating building Cordoba House, an Islamic
center to "foster tolerance of multiple faiths". At the same time, Pastor Terry Jones, of Dove World Outreach Center,
Florida; is contemplating whether-or-not to burn the Qur’an in protest "radical Islam". Both of these gentleman wrong in
several ways. Here are the issues:
"Peaceful" folks who claim Islam, want to build an Islamic center at/near ground zero; thereby, being insensitive to those family
members who lost loved-ones and consider the site sacred; with that said, folks have the right to build an Islamic center at/near
ground zero.
"Peaceful" folks, who claim Christianity, want to burn the Qur’an, thereby, being insensitive to those who consider it sacred, with
that said, folks have the right to burn the Qur’an.
Yet another example of both parties, and man's law, being in error as neither has everyone else's best interest at heart.
We cannot legislate sensitivity or morality; therefore, the "truth" lies in a theological discussion, and God's law, concerning the
heart.
"WWJD?" I've heard this referenced several time during this discussion. The following is what Jesus did and is doing
today:
God had made away for our hearts to be changed. So much so, that we can die to our selfish desires and live for others.
Our sinful hearts have separated us from an eternal, never changing, pure, perfect and Holy God.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
As gentle as can be stated; according to the Bible, there is only one way to God, and Christ is it:
Jesus said; ..."I am the way,"...(John 14:6). Jesus declares that any religion, cult, ism, faith, agnostic, philosophical,
atheistic, or common sense idea; that doesn't recognize Him as Lord, God, and Savoir is in error.
John 14:6 goes on to state... "the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me".
Does
this mean the The Lord Jesus is preaching hate?
Absolutely not, He was preaching the truth, in love. We must come to God, His way.
With this said, the fantastic thing about God is that freewill fits perfectly in His balanced plan. You and I are free to accept
God's way to Heaven and the bonus of abundant, content life here through Jesus Christ or, we can reject Him. A love
relationship requires both parties to be in agreement:
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to
be testified in due time. 1 Tim. 2:5-6
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should
boast. Ephes. 2:8-9
Love must be reciprocated to be real, He loved us; now it's up to us.
Trusting Christ as ones personal Lord and Savior brings about a change of heart; and His spirit leads us to a life of truth. It
is by His grace and mercy that we live and breathe. Apart from Him, we can do nothing.
Conclusion: The building of a Mosque, burning of the Bible, Qur’an or Flag will be moot to everyone alive today in a mere 121 years. Eternity is forever. Put your faith in Christ, and Him alone, today.
